On my way out this morning, I kept asking the Holy Spirit to give me something to write as I had nothing in mind. I didn’t stop asking for some time until I met one of my female friends. Then one thing led to another and we ended up listening to Travis Greene’s Intentional. That was when it struck me.
Many of us are quick to despair when faced with challenges, problems and difficult situations. We are quick to whine, cry and blame God, and other culprits, for our pain. If only we would open our eyes, and minds, to see and understand that there’s a bigger picture and we only see a small fraction of the picture. Only then can we appreciate the pain and know that is a process. I know it’s been a long time coming, but just hold on. There’s a harvest only if you wait.
2 Corinthians. 4:16-18 (MSG) says, “So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without His unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.”
See, my friend, you are going through the toughest of times, but don’t give in. Tough times don’t last, only tough people do. It’s darkest just before dawn. All things are working for your good! Relax! The pain has purpose. Don’t throw it away.
