It looks like Chelsea players are all the way up to China as rumour has it that Chelsea goal banging scorer Diego Costa is considering a move to China, just as Nigerian defensive midfielder John Obi Mikel did.
It’s been understood Costa has not trained for the last three days after he was the subject of a £30m-per-year offer from a club in the Chinese Super League.
Sky sources understand the Spain striker has become unsettled by the approach from China, which would make him one of the highest paid footballers in the world.
It comes as a major blow to Chelsea as the Premier League leaders look to get their title bid back on track at the King Power Stadium on Saturday evening, following defeat to Tottenham last week.
Costa has been in superb form this season and is the league’s top scorer with 14 goals.
Costa joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid in a £32m move in 2014 and the 28-year-old has scored 50 goals for the Blues in all competitions.
Costa was dropped for Chelsea’s clash against Leicester City following a reported fallout over a back injury amid interest from the Chinese Super League, before he was recalled and scored in the 2-0 win over Hull City on Sunday.
“First I have to congratulate Costa for getting an offer like that! I never got one said Ballack, but at this time Costa has to show some loyalty to the club.
“He has a contract and if he understands that this is the right club and he should do his job, then it should work.
Diego Costa’s teammates are expressing concern as they all appreciate his impact and commitment to the club, hence this is a personal decision.
What is Costa to do? We would find out soon, as he is left with two options:
- Leave Chelsea for China
- Remain in Chelsea.
What’s your take on this?
